Stockton Rec to host Skills and Drills Camp

Stockton Recreation Commission is hosting a Skills and Drills Basketball Camp on two Saturday mornings, January 30 and February 6, for students in kindergarten through second grade. This instructional camp will help develop fundamental basketball skills to encourage a lifelong appreciation of the sport, to be coachable, and to have fun.

The camp, which will run each of the two Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Stockton Grade School Gym, will be led by members and coaches from the high school basketball teams. Each of the two sessions will include ball handling, footwork, defense, shooting, team concepts and play. These skills build on each other, therefore, students who register are encouraged to plan to attend both of them.

All participants at the camp will receive an SRC water bottle, and camp awards will be given for each grade level. All participants will be required to wear face masks when not actively participating.

Registration for the camp is due by this Friday, January 29, 2021. You may register online at www.stocktonrec.org. Cost for the camp is $10 per student, and $5 for each additional sibling from the same household. All updates and announcements will be made through email, Facebook and the Stockton Rec website.
