Three SWC wrestlers medal at State

The Stockton Wrestling Club had six wrestlers qualify for State competition, March 12 and 13, in Topeka at the 2022 USAWKS Folkstyle Wrestling Championships.

The club came home with a State Champion in Carolina Northup, wrestling at 14 & Under Girls 92-lbs. Northup won both of her matches by falls over her two opponents—one from Hoxie and one from Junction City.

Also medaling for the club were Ashlyn Hahn, third at 14 & Under Girls 119 lbs. and Quintin Trevino, sixth at 10 & Under Boys 110 lbs.

Also competing for the Stockton Wrestling Club at State were Mya Trevino, 14 & Under Girls 119-lb. division; Kelsie St. Clair, 14 & Under Girls 165-lb. division; and Mia Odle, 12 & Under Girls 100-lb. division.

Kelsie just missed out on a medal in her last match, losing by overtime sudden victory.

Coaches for this year’s Stockton Wrestling Club were Adam Balthazor and Kent Hahn.
