Justin Knoll and Rylan Basart are headed to the KSHSAA Class 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament this Friday and Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, after finishing fourth at the regional tournament held last week in Norton.
Knoll, a freshman, lost a 5-3 decision to Tyler Schoenberger of Oakley in the third-place match at 126 lbs. to take fourth. Knoll will enter the state tournament with a 21-15 record.
At 182 lbs., Tiger sophomore Rylan Basart finished fourth after losing by a fall to Brell Spiess of Smith Center in the match for third place. Basart will take a record of 27-13 into State.
Markeis Spiller (120), Leighton Colburn (145), Rylan Scacchi (152) and Deyton Bedore (160) also competed at Regionals in Norton, but did not qualify for State.
