Virgi’s Views On This ‘n That
* Remember 9/11 * A year without Charlie. I am one of thousands of people who never personally knew him, beyond what I would watch online, but I feel like I lost a friend. I followed him for many years and still haven’t deleted his online accounts.
* You can be a fan of a celebrity if you want to, but they don’t even know you. You can also be a fan of Jesus Christ, who knows each and every one of His sheep and who died for you.
* Know that you are allowed to celebrate the small wins, even if nobody else understands why they matter.
* So sorry to hear about the passing of actress Shelley Fabares. Her 1961 song, “Johnny Angel,” was, and is, one for the books.
* Things that annoy us way more than they should….
Your sleeve getting wet while washing your hands.
The fitted sheet coming off one corner of the bed.
Auto-correct changing the word you actually want.
Getting completely comfortable in your chair to read a book or watch TV and realizing you forgot something.
Your purse strap getting caught on the door handle.
Dropping something, picking it up and immediately dropping it again.
When the shower curtain touches your leg.
Putting on your socks and then stepping on something wet.
Typing a long message and then accidentally deleting half of it.
When someone calls you the second you sit down to eat.
* If the No. 2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still No. 2?
* Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime and Eeyore (one of my two favorite Pooh characters, with Tigger the other one), recently passed away. That one line in “Transformers” says it all and sets the stage for the movie in that deep and commanding voice he used….“I am Optimus Prime.”
* I had a lot of things to do over the weekend, but you know what I did? I took a nap.
* I read that cinnamon is good for weight control, so I started eating five cinnamon rolls every morning. It is not working.
* Who remembers the TV show Davey and Goliath?
* And who watched the cartoon Wally Gator?
* Why is Summer so clingy sometimes? It’s like hey, it’s over. Fall and I have stuff to do!
