Oliver Wendell Holmes: "One Flag, One Land, One Heart, One Hand, One Nation evermore!"

Gerald Stanley Lee: "America is a tune. It must be sung together."

John Dickinson: "Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall."

* Yes, this is very dangerous, and should NOT be attempted, but who remembers having Roman Candle fights back in the day? Or was it just our family?

Here are some interesting facts about the 4th of July….

Three presidents who signed the Declaration of Independence died on July 4th. They were John Adams and Thomas Jefferson who both died on July 4th, 1826 (the 50th anniversary of our country’s Independence), and James Monroe who died on July 4th, 1831.

Calvin Coolidge was the only president born on the 4th of July.

The very first 4th of July fireworks show took place in Philadelphia in 1777.
