This ‘n That
* Bobby Hart of Boyce and Hart passed away recently. This talented musical duo wrote many songs for The Monkees! One of my favorites that they wrote was “Valleri.” Of course, Neil Diamond also wrote several songs for The Monkees, including “I’m a Believer,” and two of my other favorite Monkee songs, “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You,” and “Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow.”
* Do you listen to those commercials on TV about people in debt who say they don’t even know how they will feed their kids? But then, as soon as their problem is solved, not one of them says they bought food to eat. They discuss their vacations and other activities, as well as the purchases they made that likely contributed to their debt in the first place.
* Here are a few fun play on words… Minute and minute shouldn’t be spelled the same. * I’m not content with this content. * I object to that object. * I need to read what I read again. * Excuse me, but there is no excuse for this.
* I watch the Michigan Wolverines football team whenever they are on TV just so I can yell, “Wolverines!” If you know, you know!
* I was sorry to hear of the passing of actor Robert Redford. He was a good actor and pretty darn cute. But I have to admit (sorry, Robert), if he were standing next to Paul Newman, I would pick those piercing blue eyes every time!
* Does everybody buy Halloween candy for trick-or-treaters based on their favorite candy choices?
* I am all for having a section on tests that lets the students write down everything they do know about the subject that wasn’t asked to prove that they did study for it.
* For those of you who are counting down the days until Christmas, go ahead and put your Christmas tree up with the lights and just throw a white sheet over it for now.
* Here are a few reasons why some people think Halloween is the best holiday: No big family dinners, No stressing over what gifts to buy, Free candy just for wearing a costume, and The only day it is 100% normal to run errands dressed up as a hot dog.
