This ‘n That
* Except for watching the stunning performance by Celine Dion at the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, I turned off the TV. I, like most of the world, was appalled at how they mocked my faith. And though they have denied it, that vulgar depiction they had of what they said had to do with Greek gods and not the Last Supper was more than intentional. Why else would millions of people worldwide come to the same conclusion?
* It is pretty hard, but I am holding steadfast and will not put out any fall décor until September 1st.
* Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?
* How old do you feel? The Beatles have been split up for over 50 years. And John Lennon died over 40 years ago.
* I heard the reference “Kamalot” for Harris’ campaign. In no way, shape, or form can that be even remotely associated to President John F. Kennedy’s Camelot!
* When I was vacationing in CocoCay, which is FABULOUS, it was approaching the end of the day when people had to reluctantly start returning to the ship. I was pushing the time limit since I wanted to soak in every bit of sun, sand, and surf that I could, plus, you know, I had to buy a bag full of souvenirs. Well, they have trams you can utilize to get a ride down the gangway to the ship, and since it was hot and I was tired, I decided to take advantage of this free ride. I asked where the tram pickup was and was told it was up this hill to the right when I was already on the gangway. Anyway, I walked up the hill to the right with my full bag of souvenirs to find out the line for the tram was about a mile long! (I am not exaggerating.) And the wait was over 30 minutes!! That would cut it close even though I know the ship waits for those who take the tram, but that also means there would be a mob of people trying to get back on the ship at the last minute. I decided it wasn’t worth the wait or the mob, so I started to walk down the hill while hearing a few comments from the people in line saying I should wait for the tram, I would get to the ship faster if I took the tram, etc. because I did look hot and tired, and I am sure they were worried about my welfare. But by then, all I could think about was a cool shower and something cold to drink (water) before dinner, so I took off at my slow snail’s pace and walked that “mile long” gangway to my ship. And I am happy to report I got on the ship long before the first tram load of people arrived!
