* I tried this hack, and I am pretty impressed with the results. For lack of a better term, take a small blob of Vaseline on an old rag and rub down your car’s dashboard. It makes it look brand new. I don’t think I would try this on genuine leather, but I wiped down my hard plastic dashboard, side doors, and other areas in my little Focus, and it still looks pretty good a few weeks later! Remember, you have to rub it in until the dashboard no longer feels sticky.

* If you sing “Hello….” and think of Lionel Richie and not Adele, you are probably one of those people who turn down the radio to see better when you drive. I think of Lionel Richie. But then again, it is Lionel Richie.

* A great song (Waiting for a Star to Fall) I had not heard in a long time came on the radio while driving home from work the other day, so what else could I do but turn up the volume and drag Main until it was over?

* Do you call them lightning bugs or fireflies? When I was young, I called them lightling bugs.

* I love country superstar George Strait’s music and read this saying about him the other day. “Some kings have crowns, but only one has a cowboy hat.”

* Those who know, know, and will get this garage sale sign…. “Hello. My name is Inigo Montyoa. There is a yard sale on Raymond Circle this Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—Prepare to Buy!”

* I read that Jimmy Buffett had 0.5 seconds of screen time for his cameo in the movie “Jurassic World,” and he knew exactly how to use it. Before running away from the dinosaurs, he grabbed two margaritas from his outdoor restaurant dining table.

* Why English is so hard to learn… The insurance was invalid for the invalid in his hospital bed.

* When you go on a cruise, many families or groups wear matching shirts on the first day. It’s fun to read what they say about announcing a family reunion, a graduation gift, a girls cruise, an anniversary, etc. Some are quite clever, but I think I have come up with the shirt I want to wear on my next cruise. Only a few will get the reference, but that doesn’t matter because I smile whenever I think of it. My shirt will say, “I’m with Eddie and the Cruisers.” And the color of my shirt will be “On the Dark Side.”

* Singing backup for Huey Lewis and the News’“Hip to be Square” are Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott.

* It’s officially Summer! Enjoy!
