This ‘n That
* With the passing of Sidney Poitier there will be a small tear in my heart. I love, love, love the movie “Lilies of the Field,” and one of the most classic songs in all of cinematic history is from his movie, “To Sir, With Love.” His list of movies, as well as the ones he has directed, is legendary, not to mention the fact that he was one fine looking man.
* The postponed K-5 Christmas concert was wonderful! Watching those young boys and girls singing, dancing and laughing is what keeps my faith going that this world is going to be all right.
* Have you guys seen the Tik Tok video of women singing Celine Dion’s song “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now?” They start out singing the song in their bathrobes with their hair pulled up in a messy bun. They are usually standing in the garage or kitchen singing into pretend microphone stands made from Swiffters, brooms, vacuums, large mixing spoons, etc. Then when the song gets to the part where Celine is singing “Baby, Baby, Baby,” they whip off their bathrobes to reveal that they are wearing stunning sequin dresses, with someone in the forefront using a leaf blower, hair dryer, etc. so their hair is blowing around their faces for the full on “Celine Dion” effect. It is a must see! Not to mention I love that song.
* SPIDER-MAN SPOILER ALERT!! I really wish I had been in a theatre where everyone jumped up, screamed and clapped when Andrew Garfield appeared in the “Spiderman: No Way Home” movie! That was an iconic moment! Which happened again a little bit later when Tobey McGuire showed up!
* And just saying….You all know my favorite Marvel character is Captain America, but did you know my favorite scene is not the one in the final movie, “Endgame,” where he is standing there with Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, in his hand and says the line, “Avengers Assemble.” It happens a few moments before that when he straps on his shield.
* I was way ahead of my time when I designed my own black t-shirt with bold white letters you had to iron on that spelled out the words, “Italian Stallion.”
