This And That
* MICHAEL!!! I will be watching this movie. I fell in love with that guy when the Jackson 5 first arrived on the scene. I was lucky enough to get tickets to their VICTORY tour in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium and even with all his brothers on stage with him, I couldn’t tell you what any of them did.
* Chip Taylor, the songwriter behind some classic songs, passed away on March 23rd. He wrote “Wild Thing” and “Angel of the Morning,” to name two chart toppers.
* I saw an advertisement about L’eggs tights and how great they are. They are now packaged in a box, but who remembers when you could buy all different shades and sizes in a plastic egg-shaped package from the displays they had in grocery stores? They aren’t new, they are just recycled! And they are great tights!
* Here is the recipe for a homemade Wendy’s Frosty…..One half gallon of chocolate milk, one 14-ounce can of Eagle Brand milk, and one eight-ounce container of Cool Whip. Mix well and freeze. The mixture does not get hard and makes a thick milkshake.
* It’s time to enjoy the music of The Supremes! Some of my favorites are “Baby Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Stop, In the Name of Love,” “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me,” “Back in My Arms Again,” “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” “Where Did Our Love Go,” and “Love Child.”
* Sid Krofft, who was one-half of the legendary producing team of Sid & Marty Krofft, passed away. He and his brother helped bring to life '70s shows like H. R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, and The Bugaloos. They were known for their colorful worlds and oversized characters.
* I like this because it is so true….For those of us who are worried about a two-week remodel in your bathroom or kitchen, don’t worry, those ten months of work will be the most fulfilling two years of your life!
* Things only ’70s kids remember: Nestle’s Quik in different flavors, Lite-Brites, Spirographs, Charlie’s Angels, Simon, The Archies, and The Brady Bunch.
* “Sometimes I might be hanging on by a thread, but it is attached to the hem of His garment, so I know I will be okay.”
