Roberta June Hashenberger, age 86, of Hays, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Hays. 

She was born in Portis, Kansas, on June 29, 1939, to William and Leeon (Griswould) McDaneld., On November 24, 1957 she married Vernon Gene Hashenberger in Plainville, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Roberta was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was very important to her. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, particularly drawing and acrylic paints. She also enjoyed baking, especially wedding cakes.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Hashenberger and wife Donna of Hays, Jack Hashenberger of Hays, and Terry Hashenberger and wife Robyn of Russel; her daughters, Kathy Crayton and husband Lester of Hays, Billie Jackson of Hays, and Carolyn McElhaney and husband Edward of Hays; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Kimmy Watkins; and a grandson, Jimmy Hashenberger.

Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Wildhorse Township Cemetery in Bogue.
