Laurine E. Hicks, age 82, of Osage City, Kansas, passed away on January 17, 2025, at Peterson's Assisted Living in Osage City.

She was born on April 2, 1942, in Larned, Kansas to Elmer and Alice (Andree) Hinkel.

Laurine had three brothers, Leonard, Leland, and Lynn Hinkel. She graduated from Barton Community College and attended FHSU. In her later years she attended college in Mesa, Ariz., where she graduated as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Her time was spent at Hays Medical Center, and St. Francis and Wesley in Wichita. Before retiring, she was a Sleep Lab Tech at Hays Medical Center.

Her most treasured were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She touched their lives in immeasurable ways. Beyond being a mother and grandmother, Laurine was a dear friend, grandma, and mom to many. Her kindness and empathy touched lives, offering support and wise counsel. Her presence brought comfort to those in need.

Laurine’s role as a grandmother brought her immense joy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. She showered them with love, creating cherished memories they will hold dear.

She is survived by her children, Alvin Perez (Sharon) Manhattan, Alicia Pulec (Eugene) Stockton, Angela DeBaca (Don) Mesa, Ariz., Duane Pulec (Nicci) Stockton, and Dana Pulec, Mesa, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Josh, Jami, Jordan, Tasha, Chris, Bobby, Rebecca, Marlin, Taten, Brianna, Ashton, and Camdon; her great-grandchildren, Paityn, Laikyn, Kieran, Atley, Lincoln, Lyndon, Blake, Breckin, Baylor, Poppy, Tayla, Hadley, Brilynn, and Boston; and her brother, Lynn Hinkel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Alice Hinkel; her brothers, Leonard Hinkel and Leland Hinkel; and her son, Kenneth Duane Pulec.

To honor her wishes, no funeral services will be held. She invites you to please privately celebrate her memories in your own ways. Her wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest next to her son, Kenneth Duane Pulec in Larned, Kansas.
