Jackie “Jack” Duane Boller
1945 - 2026
Jackie “Jack” Duane Boller, 80, formerly of Plainville, Kansas, passed away May 4, 2026, at Richard Nau Hospice House in Longview, Wash.
He was born on July 12, 1945, at Hadley Hospital in Hays, Kansas, to Duane and Leona (Bair) Boller.
As a young child, Jack lost his father, Duane, and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Lester Kenney. In grade school, Jack’s family lived in Plainville, Kansas, Texas, and several towns in Colorado. When Jack was in junior high, the family settled in Grand Junction, Colo., where he attended Central High School and later earned his GED in 1966. Jack served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1971. During his Navy career, he served as a pay clerk, first on the USS Saratoga and later in California and New Orleans.
On April 5, 1969, Jack married the love of his life, Suzanne (Graham), in Monterey, California. They settled in Plainville and shared many years together until her passing in 1998. In 2001, Jack was blessed to find companionship again with his longtime partner, Peggy Piper, with whom he shared many adventures until her death in 2019.
Over the years, Jack worked in several fields. He was a truck driver, served in maintenance at Rooks County Nursing Home, and later became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Salina, Kansas. No matter the job, he was known for being steady, hardworking, and dependable.
Jack’s faith was central to his life. He loved God and spent many hours studying his Bible. His greatest joy, however, was his family. He cherished time with them and was often behind his camcorder at family gatherings, recording countless hours of video that now serve as treasured memories. Jack was always ready to help his family and friends, especially with computers and technology, where his patient guidance was deeply appreciated.
He loved sharing stories from his childhood, his time in the Navy, his years on the road as a truck driver, and his later travels with Peggy. Throughout his life, Jack’s values never wavered: faith, family, and service. He will be remembered as a faithful man whose quiet strength, generosity, and love touched everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his daughters, Wendy (Matthew) Houser, of Battle Ground, Wash., Kelly (Jay) Hrabe, of Plainville; brother, Dale Kenney (Cathy), of WaKeeney; and two great-grandsons, Bentley and Staley Mick. He also leaves behind a large extended family, including many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane Boller and Leona Kenney; stepfather, Lester Kenney; wife, Susie Boller; longtime companion, Peggy Piper; grandson, Devon Mick; brothers, Bruce Boller and Larry Kenney; sister, Jeanette Plante; stepbrother, Gary Lee Kenney; and nephew, Mike Boller.
