Edna “Eddie” Lucille Delaney, age 88, passed away on October 27, 2021, in Plainville.

She was born on November 23, 1932, in Hill City, Kan., to W. Troy and Maggie (Rippen) Walker.

She had seven brothers: Everett, Lawrence, Raymond, Wilber, Irvin, Jack, and Bob; and one sister, Maxine Watson, who preceded her in death; and one brother, Lee Walker of Phillipsburg.

Eddie married Robert Edmisson in 1951 and they had three children: Raymond Edmisson of Lowell, Ark., Jeanne McMullen of Wichita, and Paula Wilkerson of Maricopa, Ariz. She was very proud to be a grandmother to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Robert preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Kenneth Delaney in 1984 and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Eddie was a graduate of Alton High School. She had many adventures in life with the greatest becoming a nurse at 62 years old at which she worked at well into her 80s. She was a member of the VFW where she had served as an 8th and 9th District President. She also had belonged to the Rebekah’s and the American Legion. She was a 4-H leader along with many other activities.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. There will be no public visitation.
