Darcy (Peak) Rodger

Darcy (Peak) Rodger, age 49, of Hays, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Hays.

She was born July 6, 1975, in South Carolina, the daughter of Don and Gaylene (Duntz) Loyd. Her family lived in Kirwin, Kansas where she spent her childhood.

Darcy graduated from Agra High School in Agra, Kansas. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Hays to further her education in nursing. It was there that she met Alan Rodger and began their 31-year path through life.

She received her CNA license and instantly pursued her passion for caring for the elderly. She worked at several different nursing homes throughout her career.

She then turned her attention to becoming a homemaker, providing care and a home filled with love for her two children. While at home, she also continued to provide home health care for the elderly.

Darcy was preceded in death by her mother, Gaylene Loyd.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Rodger of Hays; her father, Don Loyd of Kirwin; a son, Connor Rodger of Hays; a daughter, Grace Rodger of Hays; stepdaughter, Alexis Rodger of Salina; stepson, Braydan Rodger of Wichita; three sisters, Sheryl Cundiff of Stockton, Melissa Buxton of Norcatur, and Lacie Loyd of Kirwin; two brothers, Justin Bohl of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Brian Winters of Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock’s Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
