Charles Donald Casey
1943 - 2025
Charles Donald Casey, 82, passed away on February 2, 2025, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
He was born on January 16, 1943, in Newton, Kansas, the youngest of seven children to Frank and Bertha (Squier) Casey.
He married Pauline Jean (Bright) on July 4, 1963. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his five sisters and one brother.
Charles was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton.
Charles worked for Coleman Company/York Industries in the heating and air conditioning department from high school graduation until retirement. He received an award for designing a “gang hook” that allowed painters to paint many parts at once. Charles enjoyed traveling with Pauline, seeing and visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, bowling, and playing the lottery.
He is survived by his three children: Christine (Henry) Sander of Stockton, Charles “Chuck” Casey of Kansas City, Mo., and Candace Koirth (Bob Kenworthy) of Pratt; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Crystal (Sander) Dunlap and Jesse Dunlap, and Brett and Traci Sander of Stockton, Ashley (Koirth) and Colin Little, and Sydney (Koirth) and Thomas Parsons of Pratt, Holden Kenworthy and Adriana McMillan of Derby, Layton and Katherine Kenworthy of Stafford, and Dalton Kenworthy of Coats; nine great-grandchildren: Jaxon Dunlap, Rayland and Lenox Sander, Weston and Brogan Little, Gavin and Ella Parsons, Jason and Graham Kenworthy, and another Kenworthy baby due in July.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be prayed on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
