Betty Lou Cadoret, 93, passed away on August 11, 2026, at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on December 3, 1932, to William Earl and Alpha Etta (Wallgren) McCue in Rooks County, Kansas.

Betty grew up on the family farm and graduated from Logan High School in 1951. That same year, she moved to Stockton, where she soon began building a life and family of her own. She married Frances Charles Cadoret on April 4, 1952, in Stockton, and they were blessed with three children. Later, Frances passed away in 2001.

Betty dedicated more than 40 years to the Stockton ASCS office before retiring at the age of 62. Retirement, however, did not slow her down. From 1996 to 2024, she served as a Senior Companion, serving 36 clients, and from 2003 to 2024, she served as a Foster Grandparent, serving 46 students. She especially treasured her time with the second-grade students, where she became affectionately known as “Grandma Betty.” For more than 20 years, she gave her time, encouragement, and love to children and seniors throughout the area.

Betty was known for her cheerful spirit and attention to detail. She enjoyed celebrating every holiday in style, often adding a festive pin to her sweatshirt or vest. She carried herself with a bright smile and a lighthearted laugh that those who knew her will always remember.

Above all, Betty’s life revolved around her children, grandchildren, and family. She was a faithful woman who enjoyed being outdoors, playing cards, suntanning, and a good slushie. She and Frances also shared a love of travel and had the opportunity to see much of the world together, including Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii twice.

Betty was a past member of the Red Hat Society and Main Street Christian Church in Stockton and later became a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church in July of 2025.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and service. Her bright smile, positive spirit, sense of humor, and genuine love for others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her children Lawrence “Bub” (Jane) Cadoret of Bonham, Texas, Larry (Susan) Cadoret of Topeka, and Lana Rothe of Hays; six grandchildren, Tony (Missy) Cadoret, Willy (Susanne) Cadoret, Alicia Busonic, Jeremy (Krystal) Rothe, Brian Witt, and Katrina O’Hara; nine great-grandchildren, Justine (Kyle) Benoit, Ayden, Aubree, Will, Max, and Abe Cadoret, Elizabeth (Kameran) Hamel, and Kaitlyn and Blake Rothe; three great-great-grandchildren, Kambree, Karlyn, and Kyzer Benoit; and great-niece and nephew, Faye and Colton Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alpha McCue; her husband, Frances Cadoret; brothers, Edgar 'Buzzy' and Ronnie McCue; and sisters, Harriet 'Jeanie' Wheelbarger, and Hazel Pflieger.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at the Plainville United Methodist Church in Plainville. Inurnment will be held later at Slate Cemetery in Rooks County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Stockton.
