Vernon Dean Chard, Hays, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Hays Medical Center at the age of 87.

He was born to Kimber and Eldred (McDonald) Chard on January 10, 1934, in Russell County, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Gloria (Stalnaker) Chard on June 15, 1953, in Stockton, Kansas. The couple was blessed with six children: Larry, Gary, Randy, Dave, Rodney, and Jan.
