Charles L. Hein, also known as “Country Chuck”, of Stockton, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the University of Colorado Health Center in Aurora, Colo., at the age of 84.

He was born on June 8, 1940, to Lawrence and Florence (Mitsch) Hein in Gary, Indiana. He married Judith Ann E. Hrdlicka in Hebron, Indiana on October 7, 1961.

Stanley John “Stan” Mayers, 65, Hays, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at HaysMed.

He was born May 19, 1959, in Osborne, the son of Raymond and Laurine (Krier) Mayers. In 1977, he graduated from Osborne High School and then attended Fort Hays State University, earning a bachelor's in Accounting. He was the Chief Financial Officer at Golden Belt Bank, recently retiring after more than 22 years.

Lifelong Phillips County resident, Lee Taylor, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb. at the age of 88.

He was born February 1, 1936, in Phillips County, KS, the son of Hobart and Geneva (Ragsdale) Taylor. He was a farmer and rancher.

Lee was united in marriage to Mary Lou Elizabeth Hanes on May 16, 1958, in Alma, Neb. She preceded him in death in 2009.
