The Stockton Public Library is excited to announce a wide variety of free programs and events for youth and adults this fall. Continuing its mission to provide a safe and engaging space for the community, the Library invites residents to learn, connect, and grow through its upcoming offerings.

Ongoing Programs include:

Storytime (Fridays, 10:00 AM): Designed for infants through preschoolaged children, featuring stories, songs, crafts, and monthly guest readers.

Tuesdays at the Stacks (Tuesdays, 4:00–5:00 PM during the school year): A weekly after-school program with crafts, STEAM projects, games, and special guests for school-aged children.

Chess Club Open to all ages and skill levels, providing a friendly space to learn or improve chess skills.

Book Clubs: The Library currently hosts four book clubs with a fifth returning in January. Youth in grades 1st–3rd are exploring the Magic Treehouse series, while grades 4th–6th read across monthly themes. Adult book clubs meet during the second week of each month and include BookTok-inspired selections, general fiction, and author-focused discussions.

Special Events this Fall include:

September 23— Adult Painting Challenge

October 22— Leadership Lecture with Christopher Hanson, Kansas Forest Service (geared towards High School students & Adults)

October 29— Charcuterie Boards with Fireline Bistro

November 14— Adult Trivia Night

December— To Be Announced Pre-registration will be required for the Special Events.

In addition to its fall programming, the Library is raising funds to bring a Charlie Cart to Rooks County. A Charlie Cart is a mobile kitchen with a built-in curriculum designed to teach up to 30 participants at a time. Once purchased, the cart will be shared among all three Rooks County libraries to host handson cooking classes. The Stockton Public Library is currently $5,000 away from its fundraising goal.

Community members who would like to contribute may stop by the Library and speak with Sierra or Chris.
