Ashlyn Hahn voted Girls Outstanding Wrestler at Norton invitational
Stockton sophomore Ashlyn Hahn continued her winning ways last Saturday in Norton where she pinned her way to a firstplace finish in the 120 Lb. class at the J.R. Durham Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Adding to her accolades, she was also voted the Girls Outstanding Wrestler for the Tournament which included 16 teams and 84 athletes.
Hahn wasn’t the only Lady Tiger to place as Rivver Long (190-235) finished second, earning three falls in the process, and Carolina Northup (100-105) was a third-place finisher, also getting three falls.
Stockton failed to place anyone on the boys’ side, however Coach Clint Bedore was pleased with their performances, stating “the boys all wrestled tough, as well, but unfortunately lost several very close matches.” Stockton boys competing were Cameron Balthazor (120), Emerson Lowry (126) and Ryan Mongeau (285). Both Lowry and Mongeau picked up a win each at the tourney.
This Saturday the boys will be competing in Oberlin (9:30 a.m.), while the girls will travel to Hays High (9:00 a.m.).
