Who was the masked face on the front of the Atwood newspaper?

Even though she is mostly hidden behind a homemade safety mask, we recognized former Stockton resident Kathy Ross in a full-color photo on the front page of the Rawlins County Square Deal.

Kathy has joined forces with many other individuals, making masks from materials already on hand.

Having found several styles and patterns online, and getting donations from people in the community, Kathy has been just one of many around Rawlins County, using their sewing skills to create masks for area hospitals, nursing homes, and individuals.

The masks can be made in a relatively short time, and, as Kathy said, “Time is something that most of us have right now.”
