Couple to use Illusions and Ventriloquism in upcoming Vacation Bible School (V.B.S.)

Glenda and Mike Mann of Hutchinson will be leading the upcoming Super Sensation Vacation Bible School at Stockton Church of Restoration, located at 204 North Elm Street in Stockton.

They combine storytelling, illusions, ventriloquism and original music to teach the Bible and to convey the message of the Gospel. The Manns have appeared throughout the Midwest in churches, schools, fairs and festivals.

Glenda will present visual messages with her illusions, which she uses as object lessons. She calls her presentations, “gospel-magic,” or “puzzles for the eyes.” Her illusions quickly gain the attention of adults as well as children.

Mike, the ventriloquist, humorously converses with different puppets throughout the program. Billy, a boy puppet, quips about his girlfriends while Gertrude, his dog, loves to sing Elvis’s songs, and let’s not forget Hector, an ostrich, who dreams of flying.

Glenda and Mike’s original music rounds out the program. Their songs are about Bible personalities, scriptures, and basic Christian themes. They have synthesized their own accompaniment.

The Mann’s Super Sensation VBS is for children from four (4) years old through 6th grade. The Bible School will be held on Monday, June 6th through Thursday, June 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Then on Friday, a dinner will be held in the evening at 6:00 p.m. with a program to follow at 7:00 p.m.
