My Sweet Sadie
Happy Birthday to my sweet Sadie. You know I love to write short little poems and stories for and about you and your little family. So today I am walking down Memory Lane and wishing you a wonderfully, fabulous day with a few poems I wrote for you when you were three years old.
Best Friends
She sits down beside me and says I’m her best friend,
And I wonder when she grows up if this closeness will end.
But all my doubts disappear when I feel her small touch
As she gives me a hug and whispers, “I love you this much.”
Memories
Pretty ponies and chocolate ice cream,
Kisses for later and lots of nice dreams.
Giggles at night when we should be asleep.
These are some memories forever I’ll keep.
And now one for today……
Through My Eyes
I see a beautiful daughter, wife, mother and friend.
I see the love in her eyes when she looks at her family.
I see her adventurous and fun-loving side.
I see her pain and sorrow, and a caring heart as big as the moon.
I see her fortitude, resilience and confidence.
I see and feel a calming peace whenever I am around her.
I see that she is wise beyond her years, but still a carefree soul.
I see someone who believes in miracles and the goodness of others.
I see her, and I thank God every day I was chosen to be her Mom.
Love you more.
