Stockton MAYB traveling girls basketball team has been formed
Sponsors are needed! Holding fundraisers!
It’s with great excitement that Jason Jackson has launched a Stockton sixth- through eighth-grade girls Mid America Youth Basketball (MAYB) traveling program. Their mission is to create future leaders, to play meaningful games, work to earn championships and have the opportunity to hang future banners on the high school wall.
The young ladies want to play fast and are committed in practice to do so. In the first week of practice, Jackson stated he has seen much improvement. The kids are working hard to build the foundation necessary to succeed in basketball. Now, the next step is getting the support from our great community.
The ladies are currently selling 50/50 raffle tickets, along with looking for sponsors. They are also setting up a bake sale to be held on Tuesday, February 15th during the home basketball game. Team t-shirts will also be sold at the fundraiser. These funds will towards paying for equipment, tournaments and travel expenses.
You can also show your support by calling or texting 785-425-8137 to donate. A parent with their child will come to collect the support money or sponsorship money. If everyone steps up, then a difference can truly be made!
As stated before, practice has already started and the team is improving day by day. The girls are looking forward to their first tournament games, which will be held on Saturday, February 19th in Hays.
Stockton’s MAYB girls basketball team consists of Jayanna Creighton, Jaylee Dunning, Sierra Jackson, Reese Taylor, Paytyn McNulty, Skyler Amlong, Brenna Odle, Shae Yohon, Teagann Shamburg and Aerial Sager with Jason Jackson as their coach.
