Ken Currie was a soil and water conservationist in Rooks County and Ann Currie was a home economics teacher at Stockton High School. Learning about how things worked was part of everyday life.

“They encouraged my brother Randy and I to ask questions and look for answers in the world around us,” stated their daughter, Marty Currie.

The Currie children took every science class Stockton High School offered.

Because of their support and that early learning, both Randy and Marty went on to get degrees and have careers in agronomy and textile chemistry.

“By endowing scholarships at K-State in agronomy and clothing and textiles, my parents are still helping develop future generations. I want to honor their passion by providing the funds to purchase science equipment,” she added.

These donations are an investment in the community to support and help our youth discover that science is interesting and fun.
