This ‘n That
THIS AND THAT
* This hardly ever happens to me… that’s when the stars and planets in the universe align exactly for something I have been looking for or wanting for a long time. Well, guess what!? It happened to me just the other day and I have to let you all know about it! First off, it wasn’t for something big, it was actually a CD I have been wanting for a long time. It has been in the back of my mind to get it or order it just so I could have it and say it is mine! Of course, I do have most the vinyl albums (with Sammy Hagar as lead singer), but I wanted “The Best Of Both Worlds” CD by Van Halen. So the other day, I decided to browse through the CD section at Walmart, and we all know how small that section is now with today’s technology, but I am old school and wanted something I can actually touch and hold in my hot little hands. Anyway, there in the exact middle of that tiny section, and NOT in its alphabetical compartment, was the CD I have been wanting for quite some time. I think it actually called out to me in its Frankenstein colors of red, black and white! That’s my story and was my Merry Christmas to me gift!
* Thought I would pass this along…..U.S. Senator Bob Dole's farewell letter was read by his daughter, Robin, at his funeral in Washington D.C.
"As I make the final walk on my life’s journey, I do so without fear. Because I know that I will, again, not be walking alone. I also confess that I’m a bit curious to learn and find if I am correct in thinking that Heaven will look a lot like Kansas and to see, like others who have gone before me, if I will still be able to vote in Chicago."
* Michael Nesmith of The Monkees passed away on Friday, December 10th. Though I know him best as one of the music group, The Monkees (Davy Jones was my favorite), he founded a multimedia production and distribution company in 1974, through which he helped pioneer the music video format. He created one of the first television programs dedicated to music videos, PopClips, which aired on Nickelodeon in 1980. He was asked to help produce and create MTV, but had prior commitments with his production company. Also, when Nesmith was 13, his mother, Bette, invented the typewriter correction fluid known commercially as Liquid Paper.
