Laurissa Marcotte and Austin Feathers wed on October 2nd in Estes Park, Colo.
Laurissa Jane Marcotte, and Austin Patrick Feathers, both of Loveland, Colo., were united in marriage on on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Sarah Smith Chapel at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colo. was the site of the 6:30 p.m. ceremony, which was performed by Reverend Greg Bunton.
Parents of the bride are Elizabeth Marcotte, Olathe, Kan., and the late Ron Marcotte. The groom’s parents are Tim and Kim Feathers, Overland Park, Kan.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Laurence and Marvel Hull, Woodston, and the late Robert and Phyllis Marcotte, Cincinnati, Ohio. MariEtta Adams, Overland Park, and Susie Feathers and the late Patrick Feathers, Sioux City, Iowa, are the groom’s grandparents.
The Chapel featured bouquets on the altar, as well as a wreath on the cross behind the altar, all made by the groom’s mother.
The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her uncle and godfather, Downer Hull, Woodston, and given away by her mother, wore a full-length ivory sleeveless dress with lace appliqué, a plunge neckline, fitted bodice and skirt with loophole buttons, and train. Her drop veil of ivory illusion tulle with a lace trimming was made by her mother, and attached with a decorative comb.
The bride carried an arrangement of wooden red roses, pine sprigs, eucalyptus, Kansas wheat, pampas grass, baby’s breath and “bunny tails,” made by the groom’s mother.
Attendants of the bride were: Matron of Honor, Tabitha Kohl, and bridesmaids, Olivia Feathers, Janell Fox, Maura Sutherland, and Elizabeth Mahoney. They each wore a dress in one of the fall colors chosen by the bride: burgundy, gray, sunny yellow, forest green and blush. They carried bouquets, made by the groom’s mother, which were similar to the bride’s.
Nick Payne was the Best Man, with Sean McAllister, Preston Rabe, and Brooks Sargent serving as groomsmen.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the couple and their parents, was held on Friday evening, October 1, at Long’s Peak Lodge at YMCA of the Rockies.
A reception, dinner and dance under an outdoor tent was held at Aspen Courtyard at the Ridgeline Hotel, Estes Park. Decorations included dried floral arrangements in Mason jars, decorated with braided hemp twine and beaded burlap, placed on cut cedar rounds; white party lights; and a memory table with pictures of loved ones.
Gourmet mini doughnuts served as the bride’s cake.
After a two-week camping tour of the Southwest, the couple resides in Loveland, Colo.
