Darrell Wayne Critchfield

Darrell Wayne Critchfield, 84, of Plainville, passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2025, at Redbud Nursing Home. 

He was born February 21, 1941, in Voda, Kansas, to Denzel and Leiva (Schierkolk) Critchfield. 

He graduated from Morland High School in 1960. April 13, 1973, Darrell married Cathey Ellen Davidson from Denver, Colo. In his spare time, Darrell loved to garden, visit, tell jokes, and watch football games on TV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Denzel and Leiva; his brothers, Darwin and Gerald; his son, Dennis; his grandson, Josh Critchfield; and his great-granddaughter, Kayla Soderberg. 

Survivors include his sons: Doug Critchfield and Dan Critchfield, both of Grand Junction, Colo., Don Critchfield of Mesa, Ariz., and Lane Victorson of Baltimore, Md.; his daughter Lana (Don) Barton of Morland; and 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present from 5 –7 p.m. His funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church, Hill City, with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
