The Stockton Tigers were on the road to Logan last Friday for a non-league contest with the Logan/Palco Trojans. After spotting Logan/Palco a 36-0 lead, the Tigers were defeated 58-16.

The Trojans led 16-0 after the first quarter, and extended that lead to 36-0 at the intermission. Stockton finally got on the scoreboard at the 1:52 mark of the third quarter when junior quarterback Max Moffet connected with freshman Emerson Lowry for a touchdown. Following Rylan Basart’s run for the PAT, the Tigers trailed 36-8.

Logan/Palco quickly answered with 24 seconds to go in the third to take a 44-8 lead into the final 12 minutes. With 6:39 left in the game the Trojans would tack on eight more points to take a 52-8 advantage, but Stockton was able to score one more time when Basart scored the TD and the PAT with 1:30 remaining, making the final score 58-16.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season. This week Stockton will host Wheatland/Grinnell in the Homecoming game at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

My 60-year kindergarten reunion is coming up soon, and I’m worried about the 175 pounds I’ve gained since then.
