BERTHA CARTER’S CATERPILLAR is one of the many highlights each year at the Nicodemus Celebration. This year’s 143rd celebration will take place July 29th, 30th, 31st, and August 1st, and will include activities for all ages.
THE VINTAGE BASEBALL GAME held each year at the Nicodemus Celebration is always a fun time for those playing and watching too.
THE HISTORIC AME CHURCH is a highlight when attending the Nicodemus Celebration.
YOU'RE SURE to have some fun in the sun during the 5K Walk/Run held each year at the Nicodemus Celebration.
YOU WILL NOT WANT to miss the Reenactment of the Buffalo Soldiers at the Nicodemus Celebration to be held July 29th, 30th, 31st, and August 1st.

Now is the time to mark your calendar for a BIG event which will take place later this summer, bringing many people together to celebrate a special annual event.

Nicodemus, KS 143rd Emancipation Celebration announces plans for return of outdoor events in 2021.The celebration will take place July 29th, 30th, 31st, and August 1st. They will feature some of the traditional events, such as the parade, 5K Run/Walk, baseball game and plenty of children’s activities. There will be a host of live events on social media platforms for everyone’s enjoyment.

The health and safety of the community is a top priority. To allow people to gather safely enjoying food, drink, and live entertainment, hand sanitizer will be available throughout the park and all local guidelines will be followed. Masks are encouraged to be worn inside the building, and and temperatures will be checked prior to entering. Guests will be asked to practice social distancing while visiting.

“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back this summer to celebrate our 143rd year as we are ‘looking ahead to a brand new day,’” stated Tracey Bates with the Nicodemus Celebration.
