Marjorie Mae (Workman) Jones of Plainville passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. at the age of 89.

She was born on March 17, 1932 in Plainville to Harry and Viola Ruth (Henrie) Workman. Marjorie lived her entire life in the Plainville area. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1949.

On November 29, 1950, she married James F. “Jimmy” Jones. They were blessed with four children: Marly, Douglas, Michael and Jolene. They farmed and raised cattle and pigs throughout their life together until Jimmy passed away November 1993.

Marjorie was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Plainville, Dorcas Ladies, VFW Auxiliary, and TOPS of Codell.

Survivor include her sons, Douglas Jones (Deb) and Michael Jones (Vicki) all of Plainville; daughters, Marly Denio (Dwight) of Phillipsburg, and Jolene Karlin (Keith) of Salina; a sister, LaVerne Hackerott of Plainville; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Jones; brother, Oren Workman; and sisters, Eva Ross and Thelma Conway.

A funeral service was held Monday, March 29, 2021, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Plainville. Interment followed the service in the Plainville Cemetery.
