Rooks County continues to see new COVID-19 cases throughout the county. The absenteeism rate is decreasing and is at 3.9% above the baseline from 2019-2020. The positive testing rate has decreased  to 19.9% this week. We continue to monitor numbers closely.

School districts in the county will begin Winter Break on Monday, December 21. In alignment with the KSHSAA recommendations, no practices will take place from December 23 through January 3.  The first day competitions will resume is Friday, January 8.

It is our hope that families will enjoy their time together during the break and will remain healthy at the same time.  Please continue to wear your masks and practice social distancing. We appreciate your help as we navigate through this pandemic. We look forward to seeing the students when school resumes in January. Updates about the return to school will be posted the Friday before students are scheduled to return.

As always, stay safe and healthy. We are thankful to live in a county where we work together to take care of one another. Happy Holidays from the Rooks County medical providers and USD 269 Palco, USD 270 Plainville, and USD 270 Stockton!
