Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Viola Budig; and siblings, Arthur Budig, Sharon Arnhold, Janice Budig, Nicholas Budig, and Eleanor Budig.

John “Jack” L. Budig, age 71 of Hill City passed away on January 4, 2020 in Hill City. He was born to Arthur and Viola (Dreiling) Budig on August 11, 1948 in Hays. Jack grew up in Plain-ville where he graduated from Plainville High School with the class of 1966. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and faithfully served for four years. Burial was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville with burial following at the church cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Jack Budig Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 SW 2nd St., Plainville, KS 67663.
Following his honorable discharge, he lived in Plainville where he worked in the oilfields, was a mechanic, and a truck driver.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, Nickolaus Budig of Hill City and Nathan Budig of Wakeeney; brothers, Vernon Budig of Canton, OK, David Budig
