Herbert and Olive McReynolds of Hays will be celebrating an impressive milestone—their 70th Wedding Anniversary—with a Come-And-Go Open House on Saturday, October 17th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Fellowship Hall of Osborne United Methodist Church, at 105 North 3rd Street in Osborne.

Hosting the event are their children: Rhonda Westerman, Karen Wasinger, Kala Manley and Jeff McReynolds, all of Hays.

The couple was married October 15, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Webster by Reverend S. Mancil Bell.

Miss VerJean Corwin, friend of the bride, served as Maid of Honor; and Donald McReynolds, brother of the groom, served as Best Man.

The couple has five grandchildren: Austin (Krista) Wasinger, Lynae (Lee) Freeman, Kaitlyn (Lance Sauer) McReynolds, Moriah (James) McKay and Ryan Boyles; and eight great-grandchildren: Bayley, Myley, Daxtyn, Ryker, Caldyn and Kyce Wasinger and Elsie and Westin Freeman.

Herbert and Olive lived on a farm in Osborne County before moving into Osborne in 1999. They moved to Hays in the summer of 2019 where they currently reside.

Herbert is a retired farmer and he and Olive attended the Alton and Osborne United Methodist Churches for many years and are still members at the Osborne United Methodist Church.

Due to COVID uncertainties, feel free to email kalamanley@gmail.com or call (916) 747-9891 to confirm that the event has not been canceled.

If you are unable to attend and would like to send a card, please mail it to the couple at 4508 Vista Drive, Hays, KS 67601.

The family will decide if the event is cancelled or not on October 11th.
