Christmas & New Year’s Holiday deadlines & closings at the Sentinel

The upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays are not going to be the most ideal ones this year when it comes to getting out a newspaper. With the holidays falling on Wednesdays, our deadlines are going to be a little earlier than normal, as we will be sending the paper off a day earlier to get printed. Rather than getting the Sentinel to the printers early on Tuesday morning, it will be sent early on Monday morning, so we can pick it up on Tuesday, instead of our normal Wednesday schedule.

Those who buy the newspaper from the racks, or have a P.O. Box, will be able to pick it up on Tuesday (Dec. 24 and Dec. 31) instead of Wednesday. Subscribers should not notice any difference as they should still get their papers through the mail on their regular schedule.

The deadline to submit news or ads for the December 26, 2024 and January 2, 2025 issues will be Friday at noon on December 20 and December 27, respectively.

However, with our office doors being locked on Fridays, we highly encourage you to get your submissions to us by Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

As for closings, the Sentinel will close at noon on both December 24th and December 31st, and will reopen Thursday, December 26 and January 2, 2025.
