#New Farm Wife Chronicles
Happy Saturday! What a beautiful day at the farm. Unfortunately, I had a sore throat and fever Friday morning, and I'm over the fever today. But my throat is still a bit sore. Thankfully, I'm on the mend.
I'm trying to get my house in order so I can take down my Fall decor and put up a few Christmas things. I'm not putting up a tree since we will be going to my family's in Kansas City for Christmas. I will put one up next year. I will need to buy one. I'll put that on my list. I finished Shawn's family's Christmas gifts today. Now, I just have my family to finish. I mentioned I was DIYing everything this year. It takes more time, but I love doing it! The hubby put up a few Christmas decorations outside. Even though no one sees them except us, it's still nice to have them up. Also, my wonderful mother-in-love gave me a real pine wreath for my door. It's pretty big, and Shawn hung it on the porch. But, I still need to get my Fall porch decor down and some Christmas up. It's a work in progress! Right?
I made a great supper tonight, and I'm including the recipe at the end. It was so good! I love cooking and baking and wish I had more time. I'm still planning on doing my Sourdough Starter. I think it will be better to start it after the holidays. I just started working at Blessed Beginnings Daycare in Stockton last week. I'm working in the baby room, and oh my goodness! It's a lot of work, but I love me some babies! They are all so adorable, and I am happy to be helping out. It has definitely filled a little bit of that void in my heart due to not having children of my own. My nieces and nephews have filled that void, as well. But they are all grown up, and I don't see their babies on a daily basis like I do at daycare. I'm thankful God opened up the door for me to be there and help the parents in Stockton who need daycare. Pray for me! My body is not twenty anymore, and keeping up with walking babies is a challenge. It definitely makes me tired at the end of the day. But I love it!
Isn't it just like God to open up a door when you least expect it? He knows just exactly what we need at every step of our lives. Sometimes, He gives us just what we ask for, and other times, He tells us no. Even though the No's can catch us off guard, nothing catches God off guard. His timing is perfect. All. The. Time.
I found this funny article and wanted to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
• Your name is written on most of your dishes.
My name is written on a bunch of my dishes. This is something I got from my Gram.
• You see the implement dealer more than your doctor.
I've made a few trips to Hays for parts and such for my hubby and father-inlove. I've also canceled a few crucial appointments because of things happening on the farm. It's just part of the job.
• You were rocking the 'farmhouse' decor/lifestyle long before Joanna Gaines!
This is so true!!!! I was decorating with a farmhouse theme long before all these hoity toity TV folk started to do it.
• You know the weather forecast in the surrounding five counties.
This is absolutely true! The weather is part of our morning and bedtime conversations.
• Dry shampoo is your staple styling product.
Absolutely! I use dry shampoo all the time!! Most likely, if you see me on Wednesday through Saturday, I have used it every morning and every single night. Usually, Sunday through Tuesday, my hair is pretty clean.
Always remember to put God first, and every piece of your puzzle will fit perfectly together. Mine did, and yours will, too!
This was so good! Trust the process. You will think that there is no way this recipe will work. But it does, and I won't make pizza any other way from now on.
Pizza
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/2 pound ground beef, cooked pepperoni slices
1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat the oven to 425º F. Spray a 15x10-inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, Italian seasoning, black pepper, eggs and milk.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and tilt the baking sheet to move the batter around until the whole baking sheet is covered.
Top the batter with the sausage and the desired amount of pepperoni.
Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the pizza, then evenly sprinkle with the cheese.
Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly.
I served it with a salad, and it was a hit! Enjoy!
