Parade of Christmas Trees celebrates 40 years!
The annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library celebrates its 40th year! This is one of its best and biggest displays, sporting 42 trees as well as the Angel Tree with the blue and pink angels hanging from its branches.
Many of the decorations for the trees took inspiration from Stockton’s Olde Tyme Christmas Nutcracker theme.
But there are also traditional decorations, a snowman, religious themes, homemade ornaments, cars, pictures of the students, and, of course, a Chiefs-themed tree. And without giving too much away, a few more will delight those who make a trip to the Carnegie Room at the library to view the trees from now until the end of the year. It is going to be pretty hard to narrow your vote to your two favorites in the Adult and Youth Categories.
The Angel Tree has several blue and pink angels hanging from its branches. Each angel has a child’s gender and age written on it so people can pick up one or two of the angels and purchase gifts for those who might not be able to celebrate the season if not for the generosity of caring and giving community. The Rooks County Health Department asks that people bring the wrapped gift with the angel attached to the package to their office by Monday, December 16th, so that all the gifts can be delivered before Christmas.
