The Stockton Junior High football and volleyball teams will get their 2026 seasons underway this week, with the squads opening on the road.

The young Tigers will travel to WaKeeney on Thursday, September 3, to take on the Trego Golden Eagles. They will remain on the road the following week with a trip to Lakeside before getting their first opportunity to compete at home on Thursday, September 17, when they host Lincoln.

The Stockton Junior High football team will be under the direction of Head Coach Ray Niblock and Assistant Coach David Ghumm. This year’s nine-player roster consists of four eighth graders and five seventh graders.

Eighth-grade players are Maverick Post, Eli Atkisson, Grayson Mongeau and Jefferson Creighton. Seventh graders are Carter Martin, Jack Morgan, Treyvonn Clark, Henry Berkley and Hudson Saaranen.

The junior high volleyball program features 25 athletes in grades six through eight. Krista Muir serves as head coach, with Kayla Hilbrink assisting. Raicelynn Huenergarde and Kelsey Clayton are the team managers.

Representing the eighth-grade class are Shoni Jones, Tessa Look, Omree Dibble, Shelby Thayer, Lily Yohon, Emilee Brown and Haddie Carpenter. Seventh graders are Evelynn Hilbrink, Kaylee Clayton, Ayla Terry, Emma Freeman, Makinley Riener, Adalyn McNulty and Maddy Swaney.

Sixth-grade members of the volleyball team are Treveah Clark, Kynlee Collins, Emery Peterson, Joree Dibble, Cambry Glendening, Sophia Hanson, Abby Terry, Amri Stramel, Kaisyn Muir, Norah Muir and Penelope Chandler.

After two weeks of road competition, the September 17 matchup with Lincoln will give the junior high Tigers their first chance of the season to compete in front of the home crowd. Good luck, Tigers!
