Two Separate Rooks County Public Notices Appear in This Week’s Sentinel-Times
Readers of this week’s Sentinel-Times will notice two large public notices appearing in the newspaper. Although both involve Rooks County property taxes, the notices are separate and serve different purposes.
Beginning in the Thursday, August 13, issue, the annual Rooks County Delinquent Tax List can be found on Pages 15A through 19A.
Required by state law to be published during the final three weeks of August, the list contains the names of Rooks County taxpayers whose 2025 property taxes remain unpaid.
Anyone with questions concerning the Delinquent Tax List should contact the Rooks County Treasurer’s Office at (785) 425-6161.
Also appearing in this week’s newspaper, on pages 11A-14A, is the Notice of Judicial Sale, which is being published for the third and final time. This notice concerns properties subject to a court-ordered sale and is separate from the newly published Delinquent Tax List.
According to the Notice of Judicial Sale, the listed properties will be offered at public auction at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 3, at the Rooks County Courthouse, 115 N. Walnut in Stockton. Those wishing to bid must register with the Rooks County Treasurer’s Office no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2.
Copies of the Sentinel- Times may be purchased online at sentinel-times.com or from the newspaper rack outside the Sentinel-Times office at 414 Main Street in Stockton. Copies are also available in Stockton at Dollar General, J-Mart, and Webster’s, and in Plainville at Plainville Short Stop, Mr. K’s Foodtown, Midwest Family Health, and Ruder Oil Co.
