Remembering Dad & Duffy

Dad’s heavenly birthday is June 11th. For years, we would combine his birthday with Father’s Day for whatever June weekend worked best for the family. Those get-togethers were epic!

My brother, Duffy, short for Adolph Gerard, passed away on June 2nd, 2022. And I am here to tell you we had a lot of ups and downs throughout our lives, but I am at peace with making peace with him and am so grateful for our special times together.

Both were loving fathers with their children missing them desperately every single day. So during the month of June, as well as every month and every day, I miss and celebrate two great dads and all of the memories I now cherish.

So here are some tributes to them! * Superman’s got nothing on you, Dad. * To the world, you are a dad. To me, you are the world.

* Behind every father’s silence is a world of unspoken truths. He may not always say or say it, but every sacrifice, every sleepless night, and every burden he carries or carried had your name written on it. * Fathers don’t always show love with words, but with actions, providing, protecting, and always pushing you toward a better future. The truth is simple. He will/ would give everything for you. That quiet love is the strongest love of all.

* 10 Things Your Dad Will Never Tell/ Never Told You: He has/had to ensure there is/was always enough money.

You are/were more important than his work.

He wants/wanted to be Superman. He really wants/wanted to fulfill all his promises to you.

He is/was tired. It breaks/broke his heart when he can’t/ couldn’t buy you that toy.

He wants/wanted you to succeed in life. He wants/wanted you to be better than him.

He would do it all over again. He really loves you. * God is a girl, Dad. Why else would He put glitter in the water?

* And this one is for Chase for his birthday and for being such an awesome dad….One pretty important part of being a dad is walking faster than the rest of your family through an airport.
