Bert Mongeau

1950 - 2026

Glade resident, Bert Mongeau, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 75.

Albert Joseph Mongeau was born on July 2, 1950, in Stockton, Kansas, to his parents, Alcid and Ella (Knipp) Mongeau.

He was united in marriage to Delores “Dee” Mongeau on January 30, 1988, at the Catholic Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Bert is preceded in death by his wife, Dee Mongeau; parents, Alcid and Ella Mongeau; brother Allen Mongeau; and an infant sister.

Survivors include sons Shane Mongeau and wife Hannah of Glade, and Nathan Boethin and wife Kelly of Conroe, Texas; daughters Jodie Carstens and husband Ryan of Glade, and Kristy Johnson and husband Danny of Stuttgart; brothers Ronnie Mongeau of Zurich, and Marty Mongeau of Stockton; sister Deanna Hughes and husband Gary of Hays; as well as his nine grandchildren and favorite child Hank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the SS Philip and James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Bert will lie in state on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary recitation on Thursday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the SS Philip and James Catholic Church.
