This And That

* I can’t believe Prince’s single, “When Doves Cry” was released 40 YEARS AGO!! I know I was first in line to get that 45 because it came out in purple vinyl. I still have it in its original cover sleeve, along with the album “Purple Rain.” And yes, I have a record player, a DVD player, AND a cassette player.

* Have you ever wondered how many people buy Dawn dish soap just to wash dishes since it has so many other uses? I have yet to wash a baby duck with the stuff. I think that would be fun!

* Thank you, Dale for the “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” VHS tape!! And yes, I do have a VHS player.

* I loved this quote I heard about America’s Stephen Nedoroscik’s Olympic performance on the pommel horse, “And the whole world falls in love with Clark Kent.”

* What movie house would you like to live in? The house from the “Practical Magic,” the house from “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” (an excellent old movie if you have never seen it), “The Parent Trap” house from the original movie, the house from “Anne of Green Gables,” the house from “Pollyanna,” or the “Hocus Pocus” house?

* How old do you feel? The movie “Wizard of Oz” came out 80 years ago!

* My house is finally painted my Adirondack Blue and I LOVE it!

* Way to go Harrison Butker on the largest contract for a kicker in NFL history!

* Okay, I will confess, I did buy some autumn potpourri at Hobby Lobby the other day, and have it in my car. It smells like my favorite time of the year! And I bought a really cute cloth pumpkin from DG the other day. But that’s it, that’s all, at least until next week!

* The next planetary alignment will take place on Wednesday, August 28th, of this year. About one hour before sunrise, six planets—Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn—will align in the sky. You will be able to see most of them (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), with the naked eye, with Mercury close to the horizon. You will need a telescope or high-powered binoculars to see Neptune and Uranus.
