Sandra Hawerlander

Sandra Hawerlander, age 78, Overland Park, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

She was born on March 23, 1947, in Gardner, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil and Doris (Miller) Olson.

Sandi moved to Stockton, Kansas, in 1956 with her parents and attended Stockton schools until relocating to Russell, where she completed her education.

She enjoyed being active in the Olathe Community Theatre, where she performed, created costumes, and took on various other roles. She spent most of her working life as an office administrator and once owned a children's clothing store.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Maupin, and her husband Wade of Overland Park; son, Matthew  Hawerlander and wife Rachel of Marion, Ohio; granddaughter Alexis Larson of Kansas City, Mo.; grandsons Liam and Ashton Hawerlander of Marion, Ohio; sisters Vickie Desmarteau and husband Kelly of Stockton, and Joni Mundell of Salina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents. No scheduled services are currently planned.
