Mr. Tate Alan Becker, arrived ahead of schedule on Monday, January 3rd at 2:43 p.m. His original due date was to be Tuesday, January 11th, but what better way to make his entrance into this world than to change up Mommy’s scheduled plans of attending the back-to-school inservice day and arrive a little early. Kari is Stockton Grade School’s first grade teacher.

Tate was born at the Rooks County Health Center and weighed in at seven pounds and five ounces and was twenty inches long. He also lays claim to the title of the Rooks County Health Center’s New Year’s Baby.

Tate is the son of Kari and Garrett Becker of Stockton. Ready to help however he can (including diaper changes) is his big brother Grant (10). His sister, Addison (almost 4), says Tate is her baby and is extremely excited to help take care of him. As stated by Kari, “We are certain that Addison will have him wearing bows and trying to paint his nails in no time.” Harper, who is almost two, is not thrilled or interested in the slightest about her baby brother. That is because it means she is not the baby any more. Kari and Garrett are hopeful she will warm up to the idea of not being the baby, but they are doubtful!

And ready to spoil Tate more than his parents, brother and sisters plan on doing are Tate’s grandparents Cassie and Kirk Karst of Russell and Sandy and Gary Becker of Logan. Plus, he also has three great-grandparents ready to snuggle with him at a moment’s notice. They are Robert Becker and Betty Albright, both of Logan and Viola Karst of Russell. Tate’s three heavenly great-grandparents are Marvin and Vicky Mader, and Robert Albright.

Ready to help celebrate Tate’s arrival are the merchants who donated prizes for the little man and his family. They are 183 Lanes, Farmers National Bank, Farmers Union Coop, Heartland Building Center, J-Mart, Nova Theatre, Pizza Hut, RGN Co. Inc. Oilfield Services, Solutions North Bank, Stockton Dental Center, Stockton Housing Authority, Stockton Pharmacy, Stockton Recreation Commission and Fitness Center, Stockton Sentinel and The Daily Grind.
