Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH to be held this weekend!
October 2nd & 3rd
It’s time once again for the Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH, which will materialize in the Stockton City Park located on west Highway 24 on Saturday, October 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 3rd from12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
The price of admission will be $1.00 for each day and FREE for children three and under. The admission stamps are good for the games and train rides. There will be two entrances into the event. One will be at the bridge with parking by the playground and the Kincaid Baseball Field, and the other entrance will be by the turn-around with limited parking available at that location. Look for the white ticket booth tents!
Some of the games at the event will be a Pumpkin Launcher, Laser Tag, Walk the Plank, Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe, Candy Corn Ring Toss, Football Toss, Yard Dice, Jenga, Hay Bale Slide, Pumpkin Bean Bag Toss, and FREE train rides courtesy of Nex-Tech (there will be a height limit for this ride). Plus, look for a few more surprises in the way of games and Halloween/Fall backdrops for some great photo opportunities!
Prices will be posted for pumpkins, concessions, snacks, apple cider, hot cocoa, tattoos, mums, Halloween/Fall crafts, a pumpkin pond, along with much more, as well as s’mores that can be melted into a sweet treat over the Park’s stone fire pit. (The Stockton Fire Department will be selling the s’mores and overseeing the fire pit during the event.)
The Stockton Lions Club will be selling hamburgers, Polish sausage, hot dogs, chips, pie, water and pop at the Shelter House as a fundraiser, so come for lunch! The
The KAY Club will be selling hot cider/hot cocoa and Halloween stickers, and Dani Moore will be there with her airbrush tattoos. There will also be a Fall Bake-Off Contest, sponsored in part by Hobart FCE. Entries must be a baked item (with recipe) with pumpkin being one of the ingredients. Just bring your baked item between 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with the judging to take place at 2:00 p.m. Baked goods can be anything from pies, cakes or cookies made with pumpkin!
Another feature at this event is a Home Grown Pumpkin Contest. Please bring your pumpkins to the north entry gate at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to enter the contest. Free admittance if you enter the contest! The categories for the pumpkin contest are: People’s Choice, Biggest by Circumference, and Most Unusual Pumpkin.
The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce, along with many volunteers and organizations worked together for several months to bring this Halloween event to “life,” so hope to see you there both days!
