Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH to be held next weekend, Oct, 2nd and 3rd
It’s time once again to scare up some Halloween fun at the Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH, which will pop up in the Stockton City Park located on west Highway 24, on Saturday, October 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 3rd from12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
The price of admission is a $1.00 each day and FREE for children three and under. The admission stamps are good for the PUMPKIN PATCH games and train rides. There will be two entrances into the event. One will be at the bridge with parking by the playground and the Kincaid Baseball Field, with the other entrance by the turn-around with limited parking available at that location.
Several Halloween/ Fall backdrops scattered around the vicinity, so bring your cameras and phones for some great photo opportunities. And if you want to get into the “spirit of things,” wear your costumes!
Some of the PUMPKIN PATCH games at the event will be Jenga, Walk the Plank, Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe, Candy Corn Ring Toss, Football Toss, Yard Dice, Hay Bale Rock Climb, Corn Hole, Pumpkin Bean Bag Toss, Pumpkin Bowling, Laser Tag, a Pumpkin Launcher and FREE train rides courtesy of Nex-Tech. (There will be a size chart for the train.) And check out the new games that have been added this year! Also, there will be a storyboard for the kids and grownups to enjoy.
Prices will be posted for pumpkins, concessions, snacks, apple cider, hot cocoa, mums and Halloween/Fall craft and floral arrangements, and s’mores that can be melted into a sweet treat over the Park’s stone fire pit. (The Stockton Fire Department will be on hand to sell the s’mores and will oversee the fire pit during the event.) The Stockton Lions Club will be selling hamburgers, Polish sausage, hot dogs, chips, pie, water and pop at the Shelter House as a fundraiser. The KAY Club will be selling hot cider/hot cocoa and Halloween stickers, and Dani Moore will be there with her airbrush tattoos. Another booth will be selling popcorn, and featuring a pumpkin pond for a chance to win prizes. The Sunflower Shed will be selling its fall crafts. And look for the colorful mums for sale by the Sigma Phi ESA. There will also be a Fall Bake-Off Contest, sponsored in part by Hobart FCE. Entries must be a baked item (with recipe) with pumpkin being one of the ingredients. Just bring your baked item between 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with the judging to take place at 2:00 p.m. Baked goods can be anything from pies, cakes or cookies made with pumpkin!
Another feature this year is a Home Grown Pumpkin Contest. Please bring your pumpkins to the north entry gate at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to enter the contest. Free admittance if you enter the contest! The categories for the pumpkin contest are: People’s Choice, Biggest by Circumference, and Most Unusual Pumpkin.
The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce, along with many volunteers and organizations worked together for several months to bring this Halloween event to our town, and for surrounding communities to enjoy! Hope to see you all at this fun, fall event!
