With the New Year just around the corner, it’s time again for the Stockton Sentinel’s First Baby of 2025 Contest. And the Stockton merchants really stepped it up this year with over $500.00 in prizes for the little Miss or Mister, which includes many fine gifts of cash, merchandise, and gift certificates for Mommy, Daddy, and baby!

The Sentinel appreciates the generosity of the area merchants and business people who make this contest possible. They are 183 Lanes, April’s Imagination Photography & Boutique, Jones Oil, Farmers National Bank, Farmers Union Coop, J-Mart, Kester Auto Parts LLC, Kiser Ag Service LLC, LIB Studio, Nova Theatre, RGN Co., Inc. Oilfield Services, Solutions North Bank, Stockton Dental Center, Stockton Housing Authority, Stockton Pharmacy, Stockton Recreation Commission and Fitness Center, Stockton Sentinel, and The Daily Grind.

Certain requirements must be met to win the contest and claim the prizes. The baby must be born to a married couple residing in Rooks County whose address is Stockton, Stockton routes, Woodston, or rural route with Phillipsburg address, though the baby does not have to be born within the county.

The attending physician must verify the birthday with the date and exact time.

The prize claim must be made within four days of the baby’s birthday, and the Sentinel Office will provide the lucky parents with the proper credentials to claim the prizes. All prizes must be picked up within two weeks of when the announcement of the winner is made. Grandparents or other relatives may not pick up the prizes for the winning parents.

Miss Rebekah Kay VanSkike was last year’s winner when she made her entrance into the world on Tuesday, January 30th, to happy parents Holly and Luke VanSkike, and proud big sisters Katie and McKenzie.

Good luck to the expectant parents!
