The Stockton eighth-grade Scholars Bowl Team finished a busy season as the league’s top team.
During the 2021 junior high Scholars Bowl season, the Stockton students attended regular meets at TMP, Osborne, Ellis, Hill City, Phillipsburg, as well as hosted one in Stockton.
At the regular meets, the topics for the questions asked during each round included social studies, language, arts, math science, fine arts, sports, miscellaneous and year-in-review. Each round contains 16 questions that the team members have to buzz in and answer correctly.
The MCEL Tournament was held in WaKeeney on Tuesday, March 30th, and the students were ready to go head-to-head against eleven other teams after honing their skills at the regular meets.
At the end of the day, the eighth-grade team comprised of Deacon Creighton, Jack Gasper, Jaxon Dunlap, Jalia Creighton and Noah Griffin, were named the 2021 MCEL Scholars Bowl Champions!
Students who participated in this year’s Scholars Bowl season were sixth-grade students Jayana Creighton, Sierra Jackson and Blair Beougher; seventh-grade students Paytyn McNulty and Piper Creighton; and eighth grade students Deacon Creighton, Jack Gasper, Jalia Creighton, Jaxon Dunlap and Noah Griffin. Their coach was Erica Dryden.
