Fields of Faith Event Held
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Stockton High School, whose purpose is to inspire and equip athletes and coaches to pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ, hosted its Fields of Faith event on Wednesday, October 15th, at Tiger Stadium. The evening open the hearts of everyone present to receive the powerful testimonies they were about to hear.
Cheyenne Hoeting welcomed everyone to the seventh annual Fields of Faith event and extended a special welcome to honored guest speakers Rhonda Rogers and Cody Jarvis, as well as the individuals who would introduce them, Madison Miller and Pastor Ted Stapleton.
After a praise song, 'Lil Church' by Toby-Mac, Madison Miller introduced guest speaker Rhonda Rogers, who delivered a compelling testimony about her faith.
Next, Meredith Gasper presented 'The Four,' a tool developed by a team in Switzerland that uses four symbols to clearly and memorably represent the four points of the Gospel. The symbols are the Heart, the Division Sign, the Cross, and a Question Mark.
Saj Snyder discussed the Heart, explaining that God's love for us is boundless and unconditional, demonstrated through Jesus Christ. He desires for us to experience His love personally and to discover our purpose through a relationship with Him.
Cheyenne Hoeting elaborated on the Division Sign, highlighting that we often fail to experience God's love because we ignore Him. We tend to search for meaning and fulfillment outside of a relationship with God, leading to selfish actions defined by the Bible as sin. Sin harms our relationships with others and prevents us from leading the fulfilling lives that God intends for us.
Meredith Gasper discussed the Cross, emphasizing that Jesus took our place on the Cross, bearing the consequences of sin Himself. Although Jesus died, He rose to life again, offering us peace and the opportunity for a personal relationship with Him. Through faith in Jesus, anyone can experience God's love daily, discover their purpose, and have eternal life after death.
Saj Snyder then spoke about the Question Mark, indicating that God has already shown us so much of His love. Through Jesus Christ, He offers fulfillment and eternal life. Everyone can communicate with God directly through prayer to seek forgiveness for living without Him. People can choose to live with God by trusting in Jesus Christ, prompting the question: 'What will you decide?'
After the presentation of 'The Four,' Pastor Ted introduced guest speaker Cody Jarvis, who shared his testimony of faith with those gathered in the bleachers. This was followed by the song 'Let the Church Sing' by Tauren Wells.
Finally, Mrs. Terri Bennett expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the evening's event possible. This was succeeded by an open invitation from Pastor Ted to worship and attend church, while Cody Jarvis engaged the crowd by singing to and with them, ending the evening of faith on an uplifting note.
